Two injured in I-91 collision in Ryegate

RYEGATE — A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 North near mile marker 111.6 in Ryegate resulted in minor injuries, according to the Vermont State Police. The incident occurred today at around 5:00 p.m.

The collision involved a 2019 Ford Escape, driven by Tracy Hale, 51, of Danville, and a 2022 Peterbilt truck trailer, operated by Austin Oleskiewicz, 23, of Charleston.

According to reports, Hale’s vehicle struck the rear of Oleskiewicz’s truck while traveling northbound.

Hale and a 16-year-old juvenile passenger, also from Danville, were transported to Cottage Hospital, NH, for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Oleskiewicz, who was also wearing a seatbelt, did not sustain injuries.

The Ford Escape sustained major front-end damage, while the Peterbilt truck trailer incurred minor rear-end damage.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks, along with the Woodsville Ambulance and Ryegate Fire Department, responded to the scene.

The crash is under further investigation by the Vermont State Police.
