Two-vehicle crash in Ferrisburgh

FERRISBURGH — At approximately 8:36 a.m. on Nov. 15, a collision involving two vehicles occurred on Old Hollow Road near the cross street of Mt. Philo Road.

Cody Martin, 24, of Monkton, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla when he failed to maintain a safe following distance behind a 2012 Jeep Patriot operated by Elysia Johnson, 36, of Ferrisburgh.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the incident.

The crash happened as Johnson slowed her vehicle to turn into a driveway.

Martin’s vehicle, which was traveling behind the Jeep, struck it from behind, resulting in the total loss of the Toyota Corolla.

The Jeep sustained minor rear-end damage.

Authorities reported clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the crash.

No injuries were sustained by either party.

Troopers responding to the scene were supported by the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad and Ferrisburgh Fire Department.

The incident caused some disruption to traffic while the scene was cleared, but no further incidents were reported.
