One dead, three injured in I-93 rollover crash

HOOKSETT — A fatal motor vehicle crash on Interstate 93 left one person dead and three others injured on Nov. 11.

New Hampshire State Police from Troop B Barracks responded to a rollover accident at approximately 5:18 p.m. near mile marker 26.8 on the southbound side of the highway.

A 2008 Chevrolet Express van, driven by Hendry Matias Chuqui Pena, 38, of Brockton, Massachusetts, veered across the median from I-293 southbound to I-93 southbound.

The van lost control, rolled over, and came to rest on the shoulder of the interstate.

Several occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

Jose Evangelista Yanascual Cumbalaza, 50, also from Brockton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other passengers were transported to Eliot Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation, supported by the Hooksett Fire Department.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the collision.
