EAST HAVEN — A local man was arrested Wednesday after Vermont State Police linked him to the theft of a tractor reported stolen last month.

Andrew Young, 35, of East Haven, is facing charges of possession of stolen property and grand larceny.

The arrest followed an investigation into the October 20 theft of a 55 HP Workmaster tractor, blue with white lettering, and its red Tebben rotary cutter attachment from a Moulthrop Rd. residence.

Community tips led police to Young’s residence on Young Rd., where the tractor was recovered.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks made contact with Young at around 1 p.m. on November 15.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Young had not only been in possession of the stolen tractor but had also used it on several occasions.

Following his arrest, Young was taken to the St. Johnsbury State Police Barracks for processing.

He has been issued a citation to appear before the Essex County Superior Court on December 13 at 8:30 a.m. Additional charges are pending.
