Manchester fire crews contain chimney blaze, no injuries reported

MANCHESTER — Manchester Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a chimney fire at a residence on School Street after receiving an alert from North Shore Regional 911 Center at 9:52 p.m. The house was reported to be filling with smoke.

Upon arrival, Manchester Engine 1, Squad 1, and Command 1 responded to the scene.

Essex, MA Fire Department provided automatic aid with their Ladder 1.

Thanks to the swift actions of the responding units, the damage was confined to the chimney area of the house.

The Manchester by the Sea Police Department was credited for creating a safe working perimeter, allowing the fire crews to operate effectively.

The Hamilton Fire Department was acknowledged for covering the Manchester station during the incident, and special thanks were extended to Essex Fire for their assistance on the scene with Ladder 1.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.

After successfully extinguishing the blaze and ensuring the safety of the structure, fire crews cleared the scene just after 11 p.m.
