Brewster men arrested on firearms charges after Hyannis traffic stop

HYANNIS — Two Brewster men were apprehended Saturday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a loaded firearm and a brief chase on foot, authorities said.

Tremaine Dillion and Kahleed Lewis, both 22, face multiple firearms offenses following a motor vehicle stop conducted by officers around 8:30 p.m. involving a black Hyundai.

According to police, Dillion and Lewis attempted to escape by running away when stopped but were quickly captured in a nearby neighborhood.

A loaded 9mm pistol, equipped with a light and laser sight, was found in their vehicle.

The suspects were taken to the Barnstable Police Department where they were booked on various charges including carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm and feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, disorderly conduct, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Dillion received an additional charge for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Both Dillion and Lewis are being held on $10,000 cash bail.
