Single-vehicle crash in Montgomery due to downed tree

MONTGOMERY — A single-vehicle crash occurred on Nov. 11 at 11:56 p.m. on South Main Street near Highland Springs Road in Montgomery, Vermont.

The Vermont State Police reported that the vehicle, a 2020 Kia Sportage, driven by Cara Conroy, 28, of Johnson, Vermont, collided with a downed tree.

The tree, spanning the width of the travel lane, had fallen due to beaver activity in the area. Conroy, who was wearing her seatbelt, did not sustain any injuries and did not require hospitalization.

The front end of the Kia Sportage sustained damage in the crash.

The Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Enosburg Fire Department and Enosburg Rescue.

The road conditions were clear, and the weather was reported to be clear at the time of the incident.
