Rutland Town woman cited for theft at local Hannaford

RUTLAND — A Rutland Town woman was cited for petit larceny after allegedly stealing several hundred dollars worth of goods from the Hannaford supermarket on Nov. 11.

Vermont State Police troopers responded to the incident at the grocery store located on US Rt 7 at approximately 5:45 p.m. After an investigation, authorities determined that Misty Martelle, 38, of Rutland City, had committed the theft.

Martelle was issued a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court on Jan. 8 at 10 p.m.

She is expected to face charges for the offense.

The Vermont State Police have not released further details about the stolen items or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
