GILFORD — A New Hampshire State Trooper’s cruiser was involved in a minor collision on Route 3 on Friday, Nov. 10, at approximately 4:48 p.m., while performing a U-turn to address a traffic violation.

The Trooper, who was patrolling the northbound lane in Gilford, initiated his emergency lights to pursue a violator in the opposite lane.

During the maneuver, a vehicle driven by 93-year-old Constine Kostas from Boxford, MA, following the cruiser failed to yield, crossing the double yellow line and colliding with the police vehicle.

Both Kostas and his passenger, as well as the State Trooper, were transported to Concord Hospital in Laconia with minor injuries.

The Gilford Police Department and Fire and Rescue provided assistance at the scene.

Witnesses to the accident are urged to reach out to Detective Sergeant Kempes Corbally with any relevant information, either via email at [email protected] or by calling (603) 223-8928.
