Providence police seize fentanyl, firearm in drug bust

PROVIDENCE — The Providence Police Department, in collaboration with the department’s Narcotics Bureau, arrested 27-year-old Ronny Llenas-Pichardo on Nov. 10, after a successful operation led to the seizure of a significant amount of fentanyl and cash.

Officers from the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit recovered 1,950 blue glassine bags containing approximately 39 grams of fentanyl and $518 in U.S. currency from Llenas-Pichardo, a Providence resident.

Further investigation led authorities to his residence, where they confiscated an additional 182.32 grams of fentanyl, a Draco 7.62 caliber firearm, and an array of materials associated with the packaging and distribution of narcotics.

The partnership between state and interstate agencies continues to play a pivotal role in disrupting the illegal narcotics trade and removing unlicensed firearms from the community.

The Providence Police Department has reiterated its commitment to these collaborative efforts, recognizing their critical impact on public safety and the well-being of the residents.
