St. Johnsbury man arrested on domestic assault charges

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested following a domestic assault incident on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Rielly Compo, 22, of St. Johnsbury, was taken into custody after troopers responded to a call at approximately 2:13 p.m. on Old Center Rd, according to the Vermont State Police.

During the investigation, officers determined that Compo had inflicted injury on a household member.

Following his arrest, Compo was transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Compo was subsequently released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Court on Monday at 12:30 p.m.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim, in accordance with policies to protect the identities of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
