Cambridge man arrested on domestic assault charge

CAMBRIDGE — A man was arrested early Thursday morning following a domestic altercation at a residence on Frontenac Way.

Vermont State Police responded at 1:25 a.m. to reports of a family fight.

Upon arrival, troopers investigated the incident and determined that Joshua Carpenter, 35, had physically assaulted a domestic partner.

Carpenter was arrested and taken to the Williston barracks for processing.

Following processing, he was released with a citation to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Court.

The Vermont State Police did not disclose the name of the victim, adhering to policies regarding victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The date of Carpenter’s court appearance has not been made public at this time.

The Vermont State Police continue to handle the investigation.
