MANCHESTER — A man with a history of arrests is now wanted by Manchester Police for stealing a car after a confrontation on Tuesday.

Authorities say 45-year-old Shariff Johnson, whose last known address is in Brooklyn, NY, became embroiled in an argument with another man upon entering his vehicle.

When the car owner demanded Johnson exit the car and subsequently stepped out to call for emergency assistance, Johnson took control of the vehicle and fled the scene.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Johnson on charges of Unauthorized Use (Motor Vehicle Theft).

Additionally, due to two sets of active bail conditions from prior incidents at Manchester District Court, Johnson will face charges of Breach of Bail.

Johnson’s criminal activities in October alone have led to arrests for Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Drug, and Breach of Bail.

The Manchester Police Department urges anyone with information regarding Johnson’s location to contact them at 603-668-8711.
