FAIRLEE — A construction worker was injured in a hit-and-run incident on Interstate 91 Northbound near Exit 15 on Wednesday, police said.

The worker, identified as Kerry Walling, 66, of Bloomfield, sustained shoulder and back injuries when struck by a vehicle around 2:17 p.m. Walling was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center by Upper Valley Ambulance.

The incident occurred south of Exit 15 at mile marker 91 in clear weather and dry road conditions.

The vehicle involved, possibly a Dodge SUV, fled the scene before Vermont State Police arrived.

The SUV likely has driver-side damage, including a broken-off sideview mirror, which was found at the site.

This evidence suggests the vehicle is a Dodge, according to authorities.

Upper Valley Ambulance and the Fairlee Fire Department responded to the scene.

Vermont State Police ask anyone with information about the incident or the unidentified driver to contact Trooper Aremburg at the St Johnsbury Barracks.
