Poultney man arrested for aggravated assault

POULTNEY — A 19-year-old man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault following a family fight on Vermont Route 31, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers were called to the scene on Nov. 6 at approximately 9:19 p.m. They identified the suspect as Zachary Ward of Poultney, who is accused of causing pain and serious bodily injury to another person during the altercation.

After the investigation, Ward was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

Ward is scheduled to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m.
