Rutland inmate cited for assaulting correctional officer

RUTLAND –– An inmate at the Marble Valley Correctional Center has been cited for assaulting a correctional officer, according to the Vermont State Police.

Miguel Perez-Agramonte, 19, allegedly assaulted the officer by expelling bodily fluids, specifically saliva, during an incident at the facility.

The Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, after being notified by the Department of Corrections staff, conducted an investigation and subsequently issued Perez-Agramonte a citation for assault upon a protected professional.

The identity of the victim has not been released by the authorities.

Perez-Agramonte is currently being held at the correctional center where the incident took place.

Further details about the case or the condition of the assaulted officer have not been made available.
