Waterbury man cited for criminal threatening

WATERBURY — A local man was charged with criminal threatening after an altercation with his roommate, according to Vermont State Police.

Shane Sweeney, 50, of Waterbury, allegedly threatened to harm his roommate and his roommate’s family, police said.

The incident occurred on Blush Hill Road, where both men reside.

State Police responded to the reported verbal altercation between the two roommates on Halloween night.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks arrived on the scene for the investigation.

Following the investigation, Sweeney was separated from his roommate, 52-year-old Pierre Delfausse, and issued a citation.

Sweeney is due to appear in Washington County Superior Court- Criminal Division on Dec. 28 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of criminal threatening.
