Vehicle crashes into St. John Neumann Church in Freetown; one person hospitalized

FREETOWN –– A motor vehicle crashed into St. John Neumann Church around 4 p.m., prompting immediate response from Freetown Police and Fire departments, according to eyewitnesses.

The incident, which saw the vehicle collide with the church building, led to one person being transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

The individual’s condition is currently unknown.

An investigation into the incident is underway, with both Freetown Police and Fire departments working diligently to ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following the incident, officials from Eversource Gas and Electric Utility services were summoned to the scene.

The Freetown Building Inspector was also called in to assess the structural integrity of the church post-crash.

Once Big Wheels Towing and Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene, first responders were able to successfully clear the area.
