NASHUA –– The Nashua Police Department has arrested Darien Small, 63, of 314 West Prewitt Street, Milan, New Mexico on charges of Theft by Deception and Identity Fraud.

On March 21, 2023, officers responded to a reported theft at the Mixed Modern furniture store located at 6 Denton Street. The store staff reported that several furniture orders had been picked up by a man in February, claiming to be from a third-party shipping vendor. However, the furniture was never delivered.

Subsequent investigations by Nashua detectives identified Small as the primary suspect. It was ascertained that he had falsely represented himself to secure the furniture without any intention of fulfilling the shipping orders. An arrest warrant was issued for Small and was executed successfully.

Darien Small is currently under preventative detention at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in Manchester. He is scheduled for arraignment at the Hillsborough Superior Court – Southern District on November 6.

The Nashua Police Department urges anyone with additional information related to this case to contact their Crime Line at 603-589-1665.
