Barre man arrested on warrant for financial crimes

SPRINGFIELD –– A 36-year-old Barre man was arrested early Monday morning on an active arrest warrant for financial crimes, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers were traveling northbound on Interstate 91 near Mile Marker 42 in Springfield around 1:30 a.m. when they spotted a man walking on the interstate.

Upon stopping to offer assistance, troopers identified the man as Michael Masure of Barre.

Masure had an active in-state arrest warrant for charges of False Pretenses/Tokens, Fraudulent use of a credit card, and Fraudulent possession of a credit card.

Following his arrest, Masure was processed at the Springfield Police Department and later lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Masure is due to appear at Vermont Superior Court Washington Criminal Division on Nov. 6 at 12:30 p.m.
