Fairfax man arrested for drug transportation

FAIRFAX –– A local man was arrested on October 25, on charges of transporting drugs and driving with a suspended license, according to local authorities.

Officer Sarah Sabella conducted a motor vehicle check around 3 a.m. in the parking lot of the RMZ Truck Stop where she identified the driver as Leo Metcalf, 40, of Fairfax.

Upon inspection, it was determined that Metcalf’s license had been suspended.

During his arrest, Sabella found six loaded syringes believed to contain heroin, approximately 10 grams of heroin, and a baggie containing around 3 grams of methamphetamine in Metcalf’s possession.

Metcalf was charged with transporting drugs in a motor vehicle, control of a premise where drugs are kept, and driving after revocation or suspension.

Following his arrest, Metcalf was released on personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Rockingham Superior Court on November 30.
