Motorcycle crash near Pico entrance leaves one dead

KILLINGTON –– A 34-year-old Rutland man was pronounced dead at the scene of a motor vehicle crash near the Pico entrance on Route 4 on Saturday, October 28, according to the Killington Police Department.

At approximately 1:08 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene where Nicholas Lizotte, the operator of the motorcycle, collided with a vehicle that was making a left turn into the Pico entrance while traveling west on Route 4.

The preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the crash but the investigation is still ongoing.

Officer Roy of the Killington Police Department is urging anyone with information relevant to the crash to contact him at 802-422-3200.

The Killington Police Department was assisted by the Vermont State Police, State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, Rutland Town Police Department, Regional Ambulance Service and Killington Fire and Rescue at the scene.

Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing.
