MONTPELIER — A 34-year-old man from East Montpelier was arrested for DUI following a crash in East Montpelier on Friday.
The two-vehicle crash took place on US Route 2 at around 7:30 p.m.
Police say that Dustin Welch was traveling west on US Route 2 when he crossed the center line and struck Micheal Cormier, 29, of Berlin.
Welch was identified as the driver.
Police say that Welch was under the influence of intoxicants.
He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and released with a citation to appear in court.
