Putney man arrested on warrant by Windham County deputies

PUTNEY –– A Putney man was arrested by deputies of the Windham County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 18, following an extensive investigation and search.

Jared Stockman, 41, was taken into custody on a warrant for escape issued by the Vermont Department of Corrections. Deputy Thomas Raymond and Det. Sgt. Mario Checchi led the investigation.

The deputies followed a series of leads throughout the day in Putney, ultimately receiving information regarding Stockman’s whereabouts later in the evening.

They located a vehicle Stockman was in, parked at a business on Putney Road in Brattleboro.

Stockman was then transported to the Southern State Correctional Center, where he is being held without bail.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office continues to work closely with the Vermont Department of Corrections to ensure the safety of the community.
