Two-vehicle crash with injuries in Waltham

WALTHAM — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Waltham yesterday.

The crash took place on US Route 7 at around 6:20 p.m.

According to the report, Michael Walker, 44, of Charlotte, was attempting to enter US Route 7 from South Middlebrook Road prior to the crash.

Justin Eckenhoff, 25, of Charlotte, was traveling north and hit Walker on his passenger side.

Police say this caused Walker to exit the road and come to a position of uncontrolled rest in a field off the eastbound shoulder of US Route 7.

Walker was transported to the UVM Medical Center for injuries.

US Route 7 was reduced to one lane of traffic for approximately 45 minutes.

State Police was assisted by the Vergennes Fire Department and Vergennes Area Rescue Squad.
