MONTPELIER –– A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Montpelier gas station.

The Montpelier Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Mobil gas station on Berlin Street around 8:31 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, according to Police Chief Eric W. Nordenson.

The lone suspect, identified as 29-year-old Korey E. Dalley of Barre City, reportedly displayed a firearm and demanded money and cigarettes from the store clerk, who complied with the request.

Despite a K9 track being conducted, police believe Dalley used a vehicle to escape, as the track was lost near the store.

Images of the suspect were subsequently shared on social media, with area departments, and through media releases.

The following day, a cooperating individual identified Dalley as the suspect. A “be on the lookout” was issued and Dalley was located by Barre City Police around 7:31 p.m. on Sunday, October 15.

He was taken into custody and transferred to the Montpelier Police Department.

Dalley has been ordered held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court’s criminal division at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 16.
