BEDFORD –– A motor vehicle rollover at the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike resulted in minor injuries for two elderly occupants on October 8, 2023.

At around 3:02 p.m., troopers responded to the incident.

A red 2023 Subaru Forester, driven by 84-year-old Elizabeth Johnson of Groton, MA, had failed to navigate the EZ Pass toll lane correctly, leading to a collision with the concrete barrier and a subsequent rollover.

Johnson and her passenger, 87-year-old Frederick Merk, also from Groton, MA, sustained minor injuries.

Both were transported to the Elliot Hospital for treatment.

Lane 3 of the southbound toll plaza was temporarily closed for about an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.

The responding troopers received assistance from the Bedford Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
