Youth injured in ATV crash in Henniker

HENNIKER –– A young operator was seriously injured in an ATV crash on private property in Henniker just before 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7, according to the New Hampshire State Police Dispatch.

The Henniker Police Department, along with Henniker Fire and Rescue, responded to the scene on Bacon Road.

Conservation Officers were also dispatched to investigate the accident.

The investigation revealed that the youth operator was performing a “wheelie,” causing the front tires of the ATV to lift off the ground.

During this maneuver, both the driver and a fellow youth passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The operator sustained serious injuries, while the passenger was uninjured.

The injured youth was transported to Concord Hospital by Henniker Fire and Rescue for treatment.

It was noted that neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets or eye protection at the time of the crash.
