Woman arrested for DUI after caught speeding on Rutland road

RUTLAND — A 30-year-old woman from Fair Haven was arrested for DUI following an incident in Rutland.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop on Simons Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. on October 3.

A trooper observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed east on Business Route 4 and turned around to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle turned onto Simons Avenue just after the trooper turned around, and when the trooper caught up to the vehicle it pulled over and stopped.

Police say they observed indicators of impairment while speaking with the driver who was identified as Anylia Slater.

Slater was screened and arrested for DUI and transported to the barracks for processing.

Slater was released on a citation to appear at a later date after being processed.
