Driver cited after hitting telephone pole in Dorset

DORSET — A 38-year-old man was cited following a crash in Dorset today.

The single-vehicle crash took place on Dorset West Road at around 12:00 a.m.

According to the report, the vehicle involved had struck a telephone pole and the driver was not with the vehicle.

Police say the evidence at the scene indicated that Willard Watson IV, of Dorset, had left the south side of the road and collided with a telephone pole which was severed as a result.

Watson was located a short time later at his nearby home.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on November 27 for negligent operation and leaving the scene of a crash.
