Public assistance leads to arrest of wanted man in Orwell

MANCHESTER –– The Manchester Police Department thanked the public Sunday, for their help in the arrest of wanted man Daniel Richland in Orwell.

The successful apprehension, which happened without incident, was also aided by the Vermont State Police.

Richland appeared today before the Bennington District Court to face numerous charges.

No bail was set for the serious accusations of Aggravated Assault, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Unlawful Restraint, and Burglary into an Occupied Dwelling.

The local police expressed their gratitude to all other involved law enforcement agencies for their cooperation and hard work in this investigation.

They praised the successful arrest of Richland as a demonstration of the power of community engagement and collaboration in ensuring regional safety and security.
