Homeless man arrested for felony burglary after stabbing

MANCHESTER –– A homeless man has been arrested on an active felony burglary warrant after being found suffering from stab wounds at a local hotel.

Ronald Wilkerson, 54, was taken into custody on August 21, after he walked into the Residence Inn at 40 Lake Ave around 6:10 a.m. with multiple stab wounds.

Manchester Police responded to the scene and determined the stabbing had occurred at the Christos Kalivas Hi-Rise Apartment Building at 175 Chestnut St.

Through their investigation, police learned that Wilkerson had forced his way into an apartment at the high-rise building and assaulted the tenant.

As the situation escalated, the tenant grabbed a knife and stabbed Wilkerson in self-defense.

The tenant’s identity has not been released and it is unclear at this time if they will face any charges related to the stabbing incident.

Wilkerson was treated for his injuries and subsequently arrested on the active warrant for felony burglary.

The Manchester Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
