ATV accident in Wilton leaves woman injured

WILTON –– A 30-year-old woman suffered serious injuries following an ATV accident in Wilton on Sept. 23, around 4:49 p.m., according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Gabrielle Ayers of Brookfield was operating the ATV on a private trail when it rolled over while ascending a hill.

Ayers reportedly struck a large rock, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The mishap resulted in serious injuries to Ayers’ right wrist, but they were not life-threatening. Following the incident, the Wilton Emergency Medical Services, Police Department, and Fire Department arrived at the scene.

Ayers was then transported to Southern Medical Hospital in Nashua for further treatment, due to the severity of her injuries.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department urges ATV riders to always wear safety gear and be aware of their surroundings.

The department also encourages riders to operate within their limits to avoid potential accidents.
