Teen driver arrested in Tamworth for reckless operation

TAMWORTH –– An 18-year-old driver was arrested for reckless operation after he was clocked driving nearly double the speed limit on Route 16 in Tamworth, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Trooper Jevin Fortin was on patrol around 12:09 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, when he observed a blue SUV traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.

Fortin clocked the vehicle’s initial speed at 99 MPH, which then increased to 105 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

Fortin activated his emergency lights and pulled over the speeding vehicle.

He identified the operator as Conner J. Shea of Center Ossipee, NH.

Shea was processed and released on bail for Reckless Operation.

He is scheduled to appear in the 3rd Circuit District Court in Ossipee on November 8, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
