Man held without bail after assault in Ira

IRA — A 47-year-old man was arrested for 2nd aggravated domestic assault following an incident in Ira on Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified of a suspicious circumstance on Blue Star Drive at around 7:50 p.m.

Police allege that Matthew Carlson, of Ira, had assaulted a household member causing pain and injury.

During the investigation, Carlson was found to have a previous conviction of domestic assault.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland barracks for processing.

He was transported to the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and held without bail.

He was given court-ordered conditions of release and cited to appear in court to answer for the charges at a later date and time.
