CHESTER –– A Burlington man was charged with excessive speed on VT Route 103, authorities said.

Sloan K. Forstrom, 29, was pulled over at about 10:29 a.m. on Sept. 5 after his vehicle was clocked traveling at 84 mph in a 50 mph zone, according to Sgt. Norton from the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.

Forstrom was arrested at the scene and subsequently released on a citation.

He is set to appear in the Windsor Superior Court, Criminal Division at an unspecified date. In addition to the arrest, Forstrom was issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

Excessive speed is not only a violation of the law, but it also endangers the safety of all road users, police said.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office urges all drivers to respect speed limits and drive responsibly to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
