Driver arrested in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 39-year-old man from Ira was arrested following an incident in Rutland early this morning.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop for an observed motor vehicle violation on US Route 7 at around 12:40 a.m.

The driver was identified as Andrew Sheloski.

Police say that Sheloski was operating under a criminally suspended license and had an active warrant for his arrest.

He was placed under arrest and a search of Sheloski’s person resulted in police locating suspected cocaine.

He was transported to the Rutland State Police barracks for processing and issued a criminal citation to appear in court to answer to the charge of driving license suspended and possession of cocaine.

He was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on the warrant.
