Mont Vernon man seriously injured in Henniker

HENNIKER –– A Mont Vernon man sustained serious injuries in an off-road vehicle accident on a designated trail in Henniker just before 10:30 a.m. on September 3.

Paul Cassidy, 53, was riding his dirt bike with three others on Craney Pond Road when he lost control of his vehicle after striking a rock.

The impact propelled him into a large tree, causing him to be thrown from his bike.

Despite wearing a helmet, eye protection, and other protective gear at the time of the crash, Cassidy suffered serious bodily injuries.

Henniker Fire and Rescue and Henniker Police officers arrived on the scene at 10:37 a.m. via the Pat’s Peak access road.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers also responded to the incident.

First responders were able to quickly provide care and extricate Cassidy, who was then transported to Concord Hospital for further treatment.

The accident is currently under investigation by New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers.

Preliminary findings suggest that inattention was the primary cause of the crash.
