Law enforcement conducts joint effort on Everett Turnpike, issues 90 summonses

MERRIMACK –– State and local law enforcement increased patrols on the Everett Turnpike this week, issuing 90 summonses and making three arrests.

The joint enforcement effort, known as Operation Turnpike Protection, took place from Monday, August 28, 2023, through Friday, September 1.

During the week, officers conducted approximately 123 motor vehicle stops for various driving infractions, focusing on aggressive driving and excessive speed. Multiple traffic stops involved speeds in the 90-100+ mph range.

The increased patrols occurred during peak commuting hours to enhance visibility and improve driving conditions on the highway.

Law enforcement officials announced that heightened patrols will continue on the Everett Turnpike and across the state throughout the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend.

Motorists are urged to follow the rules of the road and drive responsibly to ensure safety during the holiday period.
