Man arrested for larceny, meth possession in Fair Haven

FAIR HAVEN –– A 33-year-old man from Whitehall, NY, Robert W. Valley, was arrested today by Fair Haven Police on charges of petit larceny and possession of methamphetamine.

The arrest came following an investigation into a reported larceny that occurred on Aug. 4 at Maplefields on Washington Street in Fair Haven. Police were called to the store after Valley allegedly stole a large pot from outside the establishment.

Valley was located by police in the Maplefields parking lot on Aug. 28 and was taken to the police station for processing.

During his time at the station, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Upon further questioning, Valley admitted to his involvement in the incidents at Maplefields. He was subsequently arrested and issued a citation.

He is scheduled to appear in Rutland District court to answer to the charges.

The investigation was led by Chief William Humphries of the Fair Haven Police Department.
