NASHUA — A dump truck crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike resulted in a two-hour lane closure on August 25, authorities said.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near the exit 5 off-ramp in Nashua. Troopers responded to the scene, where they found a commercial-sized dump truck towing a loaded equipment trailer in the median, facing southbound.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the dump truck swerved to avoid a merging motorist, causing the truck and trailer to jackknife and slide off the roadway. No injuries were reported.

The Nashua Police Department, the Nashua Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Services assisted the troopers at the scene.

The latter department was needed for the cleanup of a small amount of fuel.

The right two lanes of the turnpike were closed for about two hours while the scene was cleared by emergency personnel.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Trooper Perciballi at (603) 223-4381.
