MASON –– A motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck took place at the intersection of Route 124 and Route 31 on Wednesday.
According to the initial investigation, a 2009 Ford F-250 was heading eastbound on Route 124 while a 2021 Kawasaki ZR900 motorcycle was southbound on Route 31 when they collided.
The driver of the Ford F-250 was identified as 55-year-old Matthew Leclair of Mason, and the motorcycle was operated by 32-year-old Jessica Westover from Fitchburg, MA.
Westover was rushed to the Eliot Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit were called to the scene by the Troop B Barracks to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The Mason Fire Department also provided assistance at the scene.
The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation.
