Police investigate two armed robberies in Putney

PUTNEY –– Police are investigating two armed robberies that took place at Sunoco gas stations in Putney and Canal Street on Aug. 20.

Officers first responded to an armed robbery report at the Putney Road Sunoco around 12:20 p.m., where the clerk, uninjured, reported that a suspect brandished a firearm.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a blue surgical mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and black shorts.

Later the same day, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the Canal Street Sunoco for another report of an armed robbery.

The clerk, also uninjured, advised that a suspect brandished a firearm.

The suspect in this case was described as a white male wearing a black beanie, black mask, dark green sweater, and black pants.

As investigations into both incidents are ongoing, the police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their inquiries. Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD.
