MANCHESTER –– A Manchester man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that occurred earlier this month at Bangor Savings Bank on Baker Street.

Manchester Police responded to a robbery report at Bangor Savings Bank around 2:30 p.m. on August 11.

Investigators said a male individual entered the bank, engaged in a phone conversation, and discreetly passed a note to a teller demanding money.

The suspect remained on his phone throughout the incident and left the premises on foot after obtaining cash.

Police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Jon Schiavone of Manchester.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Schiavone’s arrest after developing probable cause to charge him with the robbery.

Manchester Patrol Officers apprehended Schiavone without incident on August 16. He was charged with one count of robbery and is currently under preventative detention.

Schiavone was arraigned at Hillsborough County Superior Court North on August 17, where he was held on preventative detention.

The investigation is still active. Police are urging anyone with additional relevant information to contact the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711.

The charges and allegations against Schiavone are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
