WOLFEBORO — A hit-and-run boating crash that occurred on Lake Winnipesaukee late Saturday night is currently under investigation.

New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol and Wolfeboro Police Department are searching for the operator of a 50-foot SeaRay boat that crashed into a docked boat and ended up on rocks in Winter Harbor.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on August 12.

Upon arrival, officers found the abandoned blue SeaRay, a New Hampshire boat registered out of Windham.

Initial investigation revealed that the male operator and several passengers had left the scene before officers arrived.

Witnesses reported that the group was picked up by a blue 1997 Well Craft boat, also registered in New Hampshire, this time out of Pelham.

The boat was seen heading towards Tuftonboro after the crash. It was later located, docked at a residence in Tuftonboro.

The boat that was crashed into was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries have been reported.

As the investigation continues, Marine Patrol is urging anyone with information or who witnessed the crash to contact Sergeant Nicholas Haroutunian at (603) 227-2112.
