Fair Haven man arrested for aggravated assault, kidnapping, and larceny

FAIR HAVEN –– A local man was arrested Saturday morning after police responded to a report of an ongoing domestic dispute, leading to charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, kidnapping and unlawful mischief.

Jared M. Parks, 41, of Main St., Fair Haven, was arrested by Fair Haven Police after they arrived on scene around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 12.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with substantial facial and head injuries.

Through their investigation, police learned that Parks and another household member had been involved in a dispute.

Parks is alleged to have struck the victim in the face and head, breaking their glasses and causing significant injuries.

The victim reportedly attempted to leave the residence multiple times, but each time, Parks allegedly stopped them and forcibly brought them back inside the home.

The victim was transported by Fair Haven Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the emergency room for treatment.

Parks was taken into custody and lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center, held without bail.

Parks is scheduled for a court appearance on Aug. 14.

The arrest was made by Chief William Humphries, Ptl. Rod Breese and Castleton Ptl. Josh Piatek.
