JERICHO — A 36-year-old man from Rhode Island was cited for DUI following an incident in Jericho early this morning.

Authorities say they were notified of a Chittenden County Sheriff’s Deputy who was out with a vehicle pulled off the road at the intersection of Browns Trace Road and Kettle Creek Road at around 12:40 a.m.

The deputy told police that the driver, Matthew Sheridan, of Coventry, RI, had shown signs of impairment upon their observation.

Troopers performed field sobriety exercises on Sheridan and determined he was under the influence of intoxicants.

Sheridan was then transported to the Vermont State Police barracks in Williston for processing.

He was issued a citation for DUI to appear in court on August 31 to face the charge.
