Woman arrested on suspicion of DUI in Montpelier

MONTPELIER –– A 61-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol on Murray Road last month, according to the Montpelier Police Department.

At 9:43 p.m. on July 12, Montpelier Police responded to a call regarding a disabled vehicle on Murray Road. The vehicle was found stuck in the mud and facing opposing traffic.

Officers Quinn Montes, Jonathan Bullard, and Corporal Benjamin Michaud conducted an investigation at the scene.

The driver, a local Montpelier woman, was observed to be impaired by alcohol. After further investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest the woman for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The department regularly releases information about its activities to raise community awareness, but does not release the name of the suspect.
