LYNDONVILLE –– In a coordinated effort alongside local law enforcement, the Vermont State Police has embarked on an operation in Lyndonville tonight.

The ongoing police activity stems from ongoing investigations related to reported criminal activities in the Northeast Kingdom.

The focal point of the operation is centered on Broad Street, sandwiched between Red Village Road and Passumpsic Street, proximate to the McDonald’s restaurant.

Notably, Broad Street, also identified as U.S. Route 5, remains sealed off during the length of the operation.

Several arms of the Vermont State Police have been summoned for this activity.

The roster includes the Tactical Services Unit, Narcotics Investigation Unit, Crisis Negotiation Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and Field Force Division.

Amplifying the strength and coordination of the operation, the Lyndonville Police Department is also actively assisting.

While the operation continues, the public is fervently requested to steer clear of the vicinity. It’s crucial to note that the police action remains confined to the specific location highlighted, and presently, there’s no evidence suggesting a broader threat to the community at large.

As of now, finer details about the operation are withheld. However, the state police have committed to offering further insights when the timing is deemed suitable.
