Montpelier police arrest two in late-night street altercation

MONTPELIER –– Two men were arrested on Barre Street just after midnight on July 10, following an altercation that involved a pipe, according to Montpelier Police Department.

The incident saw the arrest of a 25-year-old Montpelier resident and a 30-year-old man from Waterbury, both on charges of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Sergeant Christopher Quesnel, Officer Joshua Rolland, and Sergeant Diane Mathews were the officers who responded to the incident. They reported that they observed the scuffle while on routine patrol.

“Our investigation revealed probable cause that the individuals had committed the crime of disorderly conduct,” the police statement read.

No other agencies were involved in the arrest or the subsequent investigation.
